Syllabus & Exam Pattern

LIC AAO Generalist

1. Reasoning Ability (90 Marks)
2. Quantitative Aptitude (90 Marks)
3. General Knowledge, Current Affairs (60 Marks)
4. Computer Knowledge (60 Marks)
5. English Language with Special emphasis on Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension (100 Marks)

LIC AAO Chartered Accountant


1. Reasoning Ability (90 Marks)
2. Quantitative Aptitude (90 Marks)
3. General Knowledge, Current Affairs (60 Marks)
4. Professional Knowledge (60 Marks)
5. English Language with Special emphasis on Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension (100 Marks)

Negative Marking of 1/4 of the marks assigned to that question assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank.

LIC AAO Syllabus 2016

There is no fixed syllabus of LIC AAO exam. However the exam mainly covers following topics.

1. LIC AAO Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude: 
Number System, HCF, LCM, Simplification, Fractions, Ratio and Proportions, Percentages, Time and Distance, Time and Work, Profit and Loss, Average, Simple and Compound Interest, Mensuration, Algebra, Data Interpretation etc.

2. LIC AAO Reasoning Ability Syllabus: 
Number Series, Alphabet Series, Direction Sense test, Coding-Decoding, Ranking, Arithmetical Reasoning, Seating Arrangements, Age problems, Blood Relations, Analogy, Decision Making, Mirror Images, Cubes and Dice, Grouping Identical Figures, Embedded Figures etc.

3. LIC AAO English Syllabus: 
Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies, Common Errors, Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitution, Sentence Completion & Improvement, Rearrangement of Sentence / Paragraph, Fill in The Blanks, Cloze Test, Comprehension passage.                  

4. LIC AAO Syllabus of General Awareness and Current Event: 
Abbreviations, Important Days, Current Affairs (National and International), Financial / Economic News, Budget, Five Year Plans, Summits, Census, Government Schemes, ministers, International and National Organizations, their heads, Sports, Books and Authors, Awards and Honors, General Terms of Banking and Insurance, General Science – Inventions and Discoveries 

5. LIC AAO Computer Knowledge Syllabus: 
Questions will be asked from History of Computer Development, Types of Computer and basics, Shortcut keys, Hardware, Software, Network, Internet etc.

6. LIC AAO Professional Knowledge Syllabus (Only for Chartered Accountant Posts): 
Questions will be asked from the basics of this course.
