Introduction:
In India we count six seasons in all. Winter is one of them. Winter Season is the Cold season of the year. Cold wind begins to blow since early November and since then the gelid dew begins to fall. Still November and December are never named as Winter. They are called the Dewy Season. Winter reigns over the two months. January and February.

Advantages:
Winter comes after the dewy season. Hence, there are no more clouds in the sky. The Winter sky is clear and blue. Paths are dry and they are open to all places. The winter Sun is mild and warm. No kind of epidemic is found in this season. The peasants are full of mirth. They reap their rich harvest. The Winter Crops grow in plenty. Winter is a season of fruits. Many kinds of fruit Come to the market Orange and Grapes.

Natural scenery:
The winter season is full of beautiful scenes. The gelid drops of dew fall on the green turfs. They look as beautiful as pearls. The Colour of the rising sun is deep-red. The Sun gives rise to golden colour in the fallen drops of dew. Different kinds of flower bloom in different Colours. Some flowers are milk-white, some are Coral-red, some are sky-blue, some are green and some are yellow and golden. After a dew-wash, they look fresh and bright.

The Winter crops smile on the river banks. The oil-seeds bloom into little flowers. Farmers reap their harvests. Children wear the many-coloured winter-garments. All these make a very beautiful sight.

Disadvantages:
It is very Cold in winter. People suffer a lot from the bitting cold. Poor people are more troubled than the rich. The rich people have their winter garments. But the poor people lie bare in their huts. In winter, the night is longer than the day. People do not get much time to work. So, the work suffers. Fog and mist are very common in winter. Cold wind blows from the north and the people get idle. They make fire and sit round it. There they make many kinds of idle gossips.

Conclusion:
Winter is after all a healthy Season. It is free from flies and mosquitoes. It is free from epidemics. Hence, we welcome it.
